Independent nurse prescriber

As you all know, our industry is self regulating through the NMC and the GMC. Unfortunately, there are no plans for the government to set standards and rules for our industry. I think I speak for most Aesthetic Practitioners, who feel the decision for lasers to be de-regulated was a crazy thing to do. Lasers are far more at risk of harming patients than any injectable.

It was a real shame that certain manufacturers of dermal fillers decided to allow beauticians to use their products. By doing this, problems came thick and fast and ultimately it was the nurses who got the extra pressures of safety in their clinics. Despite nurses being heavily proceedurised and there not being one case reaching the courts involving a nurse, it's us who yet again are used as scape goats for the thoughtless damage others have created. 74% of all non surgical treatments are now carried out by nurses and as someone who interviewed the ex PM, Tony Blair on CH5 regarding nurses salaries, I am extremely pleased with that statistic.
