Dermal fillers
What are dermal fillers?
Marion Brown Aesthetics provide the leading dermal filler products currently on the market. These are used to smooth and reduce visible lines and wrinkles by plumping them out, producing a softer appearance. They are made from hyaluronic acid which naturally occurs in the body and can be broken down over time.
Dermal fillers can be used to treat deep nose-to-mouth folds, cheeks, around the mouth, the chin and even to produce a lift for the jowl area. Even lips can be made to look more youthful and sensuous.
The dermal filler procedure
During your dermal fillers consultation at Marion Brown Aesthetics in Tunbridge Wells, I will discuss your desired results and how these can be best achieved using dermal fillers.
To make the treatment as comfortable as possible for you, I will numb the area to be treated first, before injecting the dermal fillers under the surface of the skin.
The treatment will take between 15 and 45 minutes depending on which areas are being treated. The effect of this treatment can last up to 12 months, although it can depend on your skin type and condition.
Benefits of dermal fillers
Dermal fillers are a great way to restore volume to your face, softening lines and giving your skin a fresh natural appearance.
Potential side effects of dermal fillers
Due to the highest standards of customer care, the side effects of dermal fillers at our clinic in Tunbridge Wells, are extremely rare; however, itching or bruising in the treated area is possible.
Antiviral medicines can reduce the recurrence of cold sores in individuals with a history of the condition. However they are best to avoid dermal fillers until they have been cleared of the virus for 6 months to prevent an outbreak occuring.
What about before and aftercare?
I advise clients to drink plenty of water - starting a few days before their treatment - to ensure their skin is well-hydrated.
Coffee, hot drinks and alcohol should be avoided for 24 hours post-treatment, as should excessive heat to the treated area; e.g. sunbathing or sun beds. Likewise, extreme cold can have detrimental effects in the first few days, until the fillers have become fully integrated, adjusting to the patient's regular body temperature.
