Dermal fillers
What are dermal fillers?
Marion Brown Aesthetics provide the leading dermal filler products. These are used to smooth and reduce visible lines and wrinkles by plumping them out. They are made from hyaluronic acid which naturally occurs in the body and can be broken down over time.
Dermal fillers can be used to treat deep nose-to-mouth folds and wrinkles. I can help address scars that have been caused by acne or surgery. Trauma scars can also be corrected or decreased. Even lips can be made to look more youthful and sensuous.
The dermal filler procedure
During your consultation at Serenity Therapies in Tunbridge Wells, I will discuss your desired results and how these can be best achieved using dermal fillers.
To make the treatment as comfortable as possible for you, I will numb the area to be treated first. Then, the fillers are injected under the surface of the skin.
The treatment will take between 15 and 45 minutes depending on which areas are being treated. Although it can depend on your skin type and condition, the effect of this treatment can last up to 6 months.
Benefits of dermal fillers
Dermal fillers are a great way to restore volume to your face, softening lines and giving your skin a fresh natural appearance.
Potential side effects of dermal fillers
Injection-related reactions are rare by might occur, such as itching or bruising in the treated area.
Antiviral medicines can reduce the recurrence of cold sores in people with a history of the condition.
What about before and aftercare?
I advise that clients drink plenty of water - starting a few days before their treatment - to ensure that their skin is well-hydrated.
Coffee, hot drinks and alcohol should be avoided for 24 hours post-treatment, as should excessive heat to the treated area; e.g. sunbathing or sunbeds. Likewise, extreme cold can have detrimental effects in the first few days, until the fillers have become fully integrated, adjusting to the patient's regular body temperature.
